In pursuit of a deeper familiarity with Islam, a young American man studying Arabic at the University of Alexandria in Egypt befriends a group of Muslim men who preach an extreme form of the religion. To follow them, he must decide whether to reject the things he loves, including his gay brother. But he unexpectedly discovers a greater joy when he meets and falls in love with his Egyptian T.A.

SAMEBLOOD is a creative feature-length documentary in post-production.

—Bio

Kate O. Wagner is a filmmaker and photographer from Washington, D.C, and is co-founder of Sameblood Productions. Kate has worked on numerous short- and feature-length film and photography projects for a variety of companies, studios and organizations. She also teaches youth film workshops, and is a current Artist in Residence at 202 Creates where she is working on developing workshops curricula specifically for refugee youth. Kate completed her BA in Media Studies at The Catholic University of America, graduating with honors and as Phi Beta Kappa in 2012.
